April 26 – Suzanne Rigg from Thrivent - Making a Difference: Sharing Time, Talents & Treasures: Identifying your values can help you discover new ways to share your time, talents and treasures. Explore how to make the most of your resources and create your own generosity plan.
CANDY NEEDED – EASTER EGG HUNT: Wrapped candy is needed for the Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 18. We do not need eggs. Please drop off the items with Tracey Ormsbee.
YOUTH AND MISSION
FOLLOW US! Our youth have their own Instagram page. Follow us to see all the great things we do-such as Mission Trips, Interwoven, CAT class and more! Our handle is @aelc_youth! Check out all the amazing things we are doing through our faith!
INTERWOVEN: Interwoven plans to meet on April 5, 5pm-7pm, with the hopes of Government and Council restrictions lifted. If April 5 is not a possibility, we will plan on April 19! During this time, we will be making soup jars to keep at AELC to provide to those in need, families celebrating, or families mourning. *Postponed until April 19.
AELC BOOK CLUB: AELC book club will meet twice in the month of April to discuss Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keene. The schedule is as follows:
April 2 at 6:30pm: Chapters 1-14 (pgs. 1-261) TO BE RESCHEDULED
April 16 at 6:30pm: Chapters 15-22 (pgs. 265-388)
We will follow Ask Again, Yes with the book Us Against You by Fredrik Backman. Us Against You is the second book to the story Beartown. The meeting schedule for Us Against You is as follows:
May 7: Chapter 1-17 (pgs. 1-152)
May 21: Chapter 18-34 (pgs. 153-305)
June 4: Chapter 35-49 (pgs. 306-434)
40 in 40: AELC is providing trash bags again for our 40 days - 40 items challenge. Each day of Lent, remove one item from your house which you don't use or wear anymore and place it in a bag. At the end of Lent, AELC will be collecting the bags to donate to local charities and organizations in our community!
SHOE BOXES: Kristen Kelly is collecting empty shoe boxes to provide for our Shoe Box care packages for our Mission Trippers. If you have any empty shoe boxes you are willing to donate, please save them for Kristen and give them to her when worship resumes at AELC. Shoe Box care package sign up will be available closer to our Mission Tripper!
SR. HIGH FAITH FORMATION GROUP: Did you know we have a Sr High Faith Formation group at AELC? Annie Herman and Janine Labagh are facilitating this group. We have just begun and look forward to exploring what faith means as a high schooler through discussion of real-life issues, service projects and having some fun! We are gathering on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of each month. On March 15 we will be heading over to Allegheny UCC church to experience their worship service at 9:30 am. We would love to have you join us as we grow together in our faith.
Meeting dates for the rest of this Faith Formation year are:
April 19; and May 3 and 17. We meet at 9:15 in the high school room (up the stairs off the lobby and first door on the left).

Some new options will be arriving at the Fair Trade stand, with the possibility of some yummy samples to follow, so be sure to stop by! We will soon be adding chocolate chips, and English Breakfast tea to the selection, as well as restocking some old favorites.
