Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church has a long history of worship, witness, and service to the community of Brecknock Township. Founded in 1767, the congregation met in the Union Church in Alleghenyville until March of 1994, when it moved into its new facilites in Knauers (across from the Brecknock Elementary School).
The congregation is made up of caring people who are committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The Congregation is both friendly and active, and always ready to welcome new members. All persons are welcome to worship and to membership.
"We, as members of Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church, believe in God and His Son,
Jesus Christ, through whom we receive the gifts of the sacraments and eternal life. In response to
these gifts, this congregation is here to worship God, educate in Christian faith, witness to others,
and serve our changing community."
